Alice in wonderland review

“It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”

I really love that quote. It explains itself basically. Sentences like these is why Lewis Carroll really is a genius. The creativity flows in a perfect harmony with his imagination and fantasy. And he did a good job articulating that into this book.

The book is about Alice, she is nicely playing outside as always. Until she falls into a rabbit hole. When she comes out on the other side, she lands in a totally new, magic world. Where anything is possible. There are animals who can talk and wear clothes, people who are extremely tall, and people who are extremely short.

There are a lot of characters who are made up really creative, and it blows my mind and kind of stresses me how he can come up with so much people, and how they variate so much.

But on the other side I am not a fan of how much characters he has put to use. It is hard to keep all these “people” in mind. So much that it almost feels like homework.

But on the other side, when there is a problem. There are different characters that can solve that particular problem. So it is fun to make up a theory who is best for this “challenge”

Because that is what it really is. A book full of challenges Alice has to pass.

Until she finally can get back to the normal world. But does she really want to? With all the friends she made there.

That is the dilemma that always stayed in the back of my head while reading this book.

And that got really stressful at some parts.

This book gives a really classic vibe, because it was written in 1856.

The illustrations are made by John Tenniel. Because the illustrations were made in 1856,  they are made with black pencils. It makes it hard to see what is really going on in the drawings. That was kind of annoying, but that is just the fault of technology. Because it was not evolved yet to the point where they could print in color.

Apart from that I really like John Tenniel his style of drawing it is the most realistic you can get with drawing a rabbit wearing a three piece suit.

Illustrations were really needed in this book, because at some points the stuff Lewis Carroll said, was hard to picture in your head.

Apart from all those things I really love this book. It brings back the child in you. And makes you excited about the fact that a world like this could really exist somewhere.

You gotta be into this fantasy style of books. But if you do. You should definitely read it
